I put my body measurements into a web program. It printed out a loooong list of styles that would complement my body type. Here are just a few of the suggestions:
1) I have a rectangular horizontal body shape. One of the goals of this body shape is to "minimize the waist and create curves". Straight and long clothes with princess seams and soft material help with this goal. Drawing the eye towards the face with such things as jewelry or scarves also minimizes the waist. Here is one outfit I came up with (you can't tell in the picture, but I'm wearing 1'' heel boots):
2) My vertical body type is long-waisted with short legs. The goal here is to "visually lengthen the legs and balance the upper body with the lower body". Some suggested styles include low to medium height shoe heels and floor length pants and dresses. I also have a heavy weight type which can be avoided by wearing dark colors on larger areas and lighter, brighter colors in smaller areas. Other suggestions overall are an open jacket and long v-neck tops. In the following picture, I attempted to wear darker neutrals, which also corresponds to my coloring of autumn--earthy, neutral colors. I wore a scarf to distract from other areas of the body.
